Pedals & Petals: Redbud Ride Launches Kentucky’s 2025 Cycling Season

Todd Strouse, VP of London Downtown, volunteering at a rest stop.

Every spring, cyclists from across the region descend on downtown London, Kentucky for a beloved tradition: the Redbud Ride. This annual event officially kicks off the Kentucky Century Challenge cycling circuit and showcases some of the most scenic riding routes in the state.

This year, hundreds of riders gathered to take part in the event, winding through rolling hills and quiet country roads lined with blooming redbud trees. These iconic blossoms, which paint the landscape with brilliant pink and purple hues, create a picture-perfect backdrop for the ride and make the Redbud Ride one of the most visually stunning cycling experiences in the region.

2025 Redbud Ride Participants

The Redbud Ride offers multiple route options for riders of all skill levels, from casual cyclists to seasoned competitors. But no matter the distance, participants are greeted with warm hospitality, well-stocked rest stops, and a strong sense of community.

As always, downtown London served as the heart of the event - welcoming riders with local eats, live music, and a charming atmosphere that celebrates both the cycling culture and the natural beauty of Kentucky in bloom.

The Redbud Ride isn’t just a race. It’s a rite of spring, a celebration of the season, and a proud tradition that continues to grow year after year.
